Fire on Ice, our annual home meet, is taking place on Saturday, December 7. Numerous volunteers are required to make the event run smoothly. Many of the positions are the same as the Mini Meets, and there are also jobs that are specific to the meet.
We also run a Hospitality Room which serves our coaches, officials, and volunteers. We are looking for people willing to bring in food, as well as work in the hospitality room during the meet.
To sign up for these volunteer positions, please follow our Sign Up Genius link.
Don’t forget to fill in the Competition Entry Sheet with a Yes or No for Fire on Ice by going here:Meet Sign Up
We had a good representation of Border Blades at the Fall Classic this year! Great job skaters: Jayva A, Danika B, Brodie D, Mathew D, Maegan D, Garrett D, Lance G, Kaylee K, Leland L, Samantha L, Alex M, Erik M, Erika P, Ashford S, Spencer S, and Donovan S.
This was the first big out of town meet for many of our skaters, and they had a great time! Lots of new PB’s set, and even a few medals!
Our second Mini Meet of the year is fast approaching on November 28, 2019 from 5-8. Please follow the link below to sign up for a volunteer position. Training will be provided if you are new to the job. This will be the last chance to practice positions before Fire on Ice.
Reminder: If you have not already filled out the Meet Sign Up Page, please do so ASAP. This helps ensure that the races are fun and fair for our kids!
Our first Mini Meet takes place on Monday, November 4 from 5-8 for SS1, SS2, & SS3 groups. L2S will have their own races scheduled during a practise.
Parents – we need your help. Mini meets are great racing practice for the skaters, and they are also a great time for parents to learn the different volunteer positions involved in a speed skating meet. This will serve as practice for our upcoming invitational meet, Fire on Ice, happening on Saturday, December 7, 2019.
Please click the sign up button below to volunteer for the meet.
IMPORTANT! Also, a reminder to fill in the Meet Sign Up page for your skater so that our coaches and meet organizers know who to expect at the meet. This ensures the races are even and fair, so all the kids can have fun!
