Fire on Ice XV Volunteers

Fire on Ice, our annual home meet, is taking place on Saturday, December 1.  Numerous volunteers are required to make the event run smoothly.  Many of the positions are the same as the Mini Meets, and there are also jobs that are specific to the meet.

We also run a Hospitality Room in the OTS room, which serves our coaches, officials, and volunteers.  We are looking for people willing to bring in food, as well as work in the hospitality room during the meet.

To sign up for these volunteer positions, please follow our Sign Up Genius link.

Bring A Friend Day

Bring a friend to practise over the November school break!
Happening Thursday, November 15 during normal practise hours.

To participate, please make sure your friend brings:

  • skates
  • helmet
  • cut proof gloves
  • neck guard
  • knee and shin pads recommended

We encourage everybody to invite a friend to experience the fun and exciting sport of speed skating!

Mini Meet #1 Please Volunteer!

Our first Mini Meet takes place on Thursday, November 22 from 5-8 for SS1, SS2, & SS3 groups.  L2S will have their own races scheduled during a practise.

Parents – we need your help.  Mini meets are great practice for the skaters, and they are also a great time for parents to learn the different volunteer positions involved in a speed skating meet.  This will serve as practice for our upcoming invitational meet, Fire on Ice, happening on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Please click the sign up button below to volunteer for the meet.

IMPORTANT! Also, a reminder to fill in the Meet Sign Up page for your skater so that our coaches and meet organizers know who to expect at the meet.  This ensures the races are even and fair, so all the kids can have fun!
