Border Blades History

The Lloydminster Border Blades Speed Skating club was established in 1992 by a group of Lloydminster families interested in providing the youth of Lloydminster with speed skating as a choice of winter sport in which to participate.

One of our founding members was Krisy Myers, who has gone on to compete internationally and represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy.

From an initial membership of 14 skaters and three coaches, the club has grown immensely and we have skaters ranging in age from 3 to 18 skating two to three times a week and attending meets all over Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC.
